Reclaim Your Wild

Where Nature, Potential And Adventure Meet

Wild Within expeditions are a little different to other ocean experiences. Everything we do is designed to bring you back to connection.

Spending time in the Ocean grounds us. It humbles us and expands us all at once. When you spend time in the ocean, responsibilities, roles, and titles fall away, allowing you to reconnect to a sense of aliveness.

Underpinning everything we do is a profound respect for the ocean and we bring in specialist to share their knowledge of marine ecosystems and ocean conservation. Supporting us all to contribute and become stewards for the natural world.

We blend freediving with nervous system intelligence, you'll come away understanding yourself more deeply and you'll feel more grounded in your own agency. This stays with you long after the trip, because we believe empowered people protect what matters.

The Three Pillars Of Our Expeditions

Nature As Our Teacher

Every expedition takes you somewhere wild and remote, chosen because of what that place can teach you.
Time spent in nature teaches us more than any course or textbook ever could. It has a way of humbling us, connecting us, and inspiring us, all at once.
Stepping away from normal life, the phones, the emails, the to do lists, and witnessing the intricacy of a world that runs without us, changes you in a way which is difficult to put into words.

Freediving As A Transformational Tool

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced diver, freediving is a masterclass in how your body responds under pressure. It teaches you how to relax into discomfort, to build confidence in your body and your capabilities.

Who we are shows up in the water, allowing us to understand our blocks in real time and move past them.

Working With Your Inner World

Our methods are trauma-informed, grounded in neurobiology and neuroscience. They help you navigate your inner world, reconnect with your body, and reclaim your sense of agency, aliveness, and presence.

We show you how it is often the limitations you place on yourself that stand in your way rather than your reality. This becomes a powerful tool you take back to normal life.

Respect runs through everything we do

We are a trauma informed organisation, meaning we aim to create an environment where you feel safe to show up, not pressured to perform. Safety is built through transparency, care and protection. For one another, ourselves and the ocean.

Next Expedition: Shark diving,

Aliwal Shoal, South Africa

Meet Some Of The Ocean’s Most Beautiful Apex Predators.

This expedition is for ocean lovers who would love to explore the wild and untamed oceans of Africa. Our 5-day Shark Dive Expedition at Aliwal Shoal offers world-class diving, where you will have up-close interactions with blacktip reef, ragged-tooth sharks, and possibly the occasional tiger.

This small-group adventure creates space for connection, learning, and transformation. You'll be briefed on shark behaviour and how to safely and respectfully share the ocean with these beautiful animals to ensure ethical interactions.

What sets Wild Within apart is that throughout your trip we run workshops to guide you through nervous system regulation and somatic presence. You'll come away with a much deeper and more respectful understanding of your body and how to work with stress. You'll build a deep sense of self-agency that will stay with you long after the trip. You're supported to integrate each experience and take what you need from the journey.

This is real adventure. You'll learn presence so you can become a witness in an environment few have ever had the chance to experience.

Aliwal Shoal, A World Class Shark Diving Site:

Beneath the surface of the Aliwal Shoal lies a series of ancient sunken sand dunes. Here, roughly 6km offshore, the ocean does something it rarely does anywhere else! It is ranked among the finest shark diving sites on the planet for its compact reef system and concentration of predators… the 670 km² area has been environmentally protected with conservation status since before the democracy of South Africa was even born. Aliwal offers you an untouched history that you won’t find anywhere else!

At least six species move through these waters across the year: ragged-tooth sharks gather to breed from May through October, oceanic blacktips patrol year-round, tigers cruise through from February to April. Bull sharks, hammerheads, and whitetips complete a lineup that most divers spend a lifetime chasing.

It's the Agulhas Current that makes this diversity possible, sweeping nutritious smaller animals into closer range and drawing predators in. The Aghulus supports an entire ecosystem to thrive. The shoal's pinnacles and rock formations uniquely offers homes, hunting grounds, and landscapes for play to the entire ecosystem.

Safety First

Sharks are deeply misunderstood. Every interaction on this trip is designed to safely undo that reputation and conditioning. You'll learn how to stay respectful of their space, while minding your own.

Freediving teaches us to move alongside nature, rather than trying to overcome or conquer it. You'll learn agency, presence, and respect, because as humans, we forget we too are animals, and our bodies speak far more than our words. We witness. We do not enforce.

Every dive is professionally guided. Our protocols have ensured zero accidental incidents at Aliwal shoal for divers of all levels!
