What is the connection between Freediving, Trauma & Peak Performance?

Freediving is one of the only activities on earth that requires you to completely surrender.

You cannot force your way down. You cannot push through with willpower. You cannot control your way to depth. The moment you tense, grip, or try harder, your body fights you and you go nowhere.

The only way to freedive is to learn how to completely let go and trust. Trust your body. Trust your breath. Trust the water. Trust that you are safe even in the unknown depths of something you cannot fully see or control.

Freediving is the one place in your life where your survival patterns physically cannot work. Control doesn't work there. Pushing doesn't work there. White-knuckling doesn't work there.

The water doesn't care about your goals, ambitions, or how much you want it. It responds to the authenticity of your nervous system. On land you can push through. You can busy yourself. You can avoid.

In the water, you cannot lie. Your body tells the absolute truth.

The ocean reflects exactly where you are. Good news, this is not a reflection of your talent or your ability. What I appreciate most about Kim is her soft yet very direct approach: she gently guides you straight to the root of what’s going on. Even online, which normally isn’t really my preferred environment, I felt very safe and supported. The somatic exercises we did were also surprisingly powerful and grounding.

Each module includes short video lessons and practical exercises. We then meet weekly as a group for live sessions focused on depth, integration, and real application.

Module 1: Nervous System Foundations

Learn why your body sometimes resists the very things you want most and how to create the felt sense of safety that allows you to take bold action. You'll understand the three branches of your autonomic nervous system and develop practices to access your optimal state on demand.

Module 2: Internal Family Systems

Meet the parts of you that sabotage, that protect, that hold old wounds. Not as problems to fix, but as valuable members of your internal team. When your parts stop fighting each other, your energy becomes available for what matters.

Module 3: Limiting Beliefs

Identify the invisible ceilings on what you allow yourself to achieve, have, or become. Then learn precise techniques from NLP to dismantle beliefs that no longer serve you and install ones that do.

Module 4: Mindset

Your brain filters 11 million bits of information down to 50 conscious bits per second. Learn to programme this filter; your Reticular Activating System, to notice opportunities rather than threats. Master attention in an age of distraction.

Module 5: Flow State

Drawing from Steven Kotler's neuroscience of flow, discover how to generate intrinsic motivation through curiosity, passion, and purpose. Learn how to make motivation reliable rather than fleeting by aligning identity with vision.

Module 6: Identity and Embodiment

Create your Massively Transformative Purpose and break it down into achievable daily actions. Learn Kotler's approach to making the impossible probable through strategic goal architecture and flow-based achievement.
